St.Lucian Customs (Food)

Most St.Lucians have a certain liking for fish. Most meals are either eaten with fish including a side of green bananas, potatoes, and even plantains. With these foods they would usually mix them with another side like green pepper or possibly tomatoes. These are great foods eaten by st.lucians daily and even I myself eat them regularly. Weekend Post - Customs (Smoking)

Americans get very excited about the issue of smoking, and it is not a good idea to get Americans too excited about any particular issue. Smoking was highly acceptable a few decades ago, but now smokers are in a dwindling minority. Many states and local cities have laws limiting the public areas in which people may smoke, or mandating non-smoking areas in restaurants. Cigarette advertising has been banned from radio and television for many years. Many trains and airlines do not allow smoking at all. Most modern manufactured cigarettes are filtered and include reconstituted tobacco and other additives. The cigarette is also known to give cancer and many other diseases.

Throughout Martin Luther Kings speech he reiterates this issue of "The Other America." And speaks of generally two Americas one in which the economy is thriving and everyone in it is of higher stature. On the other hand there is another America in which the economy is near depression status and many people are homeless as well as unemployed. There were many issues during the 1960's in which were described as racism, unemployment, and the Jim Crow Laws which held restrictions on many African-Americans. In present day US there are many issues of which described unemployment a little racism in some parts but not bold. He also speaks of this issue called racism, racism is hatred or intolerance of another race or other races. Although the fact these two Americas no longer exist in the present day society there is just one combined society thriving or failing together. All in all "The Other America" was an issue that occurred during the late 1960's but has not arise in the 21st century as of yet.
